About the Role
As our Accounting Analyst — Marketing & SG&A, you will own key areas of our month-end close and expense reporting across a multi-brand, multi-entity DTC e-commerce business. You’ll make sure every dollar spent is accurately recorded, reconciled, and allocated to the right account, brand, department, and legal entity.
This is a highly hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting into the details, following numbers across systems until they reconcile, and turning financial data into clear insights. You’ll work across marketing spend, SG&A, payroll allocations, sales tax, and marketplace and payment gateway settlements while helping us build more scalable and reliable accounting processes.
What you’ll achieve
Execute month-end close across multiple legal entities, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Reconcile marketplace and payment gateway settlements to recognized revenue, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Maintain a consistent chart of accounts across entities, ensuring accurate and standardized financial reporting.
Own the accounting and reconciliation of media spend across acquisition channels, including accruals, platform invoices, and allocation by brand and legal entity.
Reconcile platform-reported marketing spend to the general ledger, identifying and resolving variances before close.
Build clear marketing spend reporting by channel and brand, providing visibility into actual performance against plan.
Maintain accurate SG&A classification across vendor invoices, SaaS and subscription costs, professional services, and other operating expenses.
Allocate payroll and headcount costs across departments and entities and maintain the reporting that supports those allocations.
Produce SG&A reporting and variance analysis by department, translating financial results into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
Support US sales tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including registrations as nexus is triggered, filings, remittances, amendments, and ongoing nexus tracking.
Reconcile sales tax collected across marketplaces and payment gateways to amounts filed and remitted, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Maintain exemption and resale certificates, product tax codes, and taxability mapping in Avalara.
Help standardize and improve accounting processes as we continue building a more scalable close and reporting infrastructure.
